One of the few full-service day spas in the nation found in a hospital, the Essential Touch Wellness Spa and Boutique is just what the doctor ordered when it comes to holistic care for the mind and body. Located in the Women’s Center of the Scottsdale Healthcare Shea campus, the intimate atmosphere of this 5,000-square-foot facility was designed with women’s health and wellness in mind, although the spa does have a men’s only day each month.
The boutique offers everything from specialty items for new moms such as breast pumps and nursing bras to signature-scented candles and carefully selected books and resources. Also for sale is the full line of Pevonia Botanica products, a top skincare line which is used in all their spa services.
Tucked in a private corner of the boutique, the salon has two spa pedicure chairs and three manicure stations. The nail technicians are medically trained to also provide in-room manicure and pedicure services to sensitive-needs hospital patients such as individuals undergoing chemotherapy and patients with diabetes.
The Wellness Spa area houses a full-service fitness center staffed by highly educated exercise physiologists, a small but intimate waiting area, seven therapy rooms including a Vichy shower room and a hydrotherapy room, a steam room, and an immaculate locker and bathroom area. You’ll find that everything about this day spa has so much thought and careful consideration behind it; for example, the air-circulated, 36-jet hydrotherapy tub was chosen over the water-circulated models because air jets do not carry the bacteria that water jets can. You’ll also find that the subtle ambiance and comfortable decor of the wellness area is so peaceful and inviting that you’ll feel very much at home.
